ReplyDeletegoogle map is showing the US consulate office in tijuana in different location. Is the map correct which you are shown?
ReplyDeleteThanks
Yes, this map is correct. There are 2 consulates in TJ but this is the one you need to go for your appointment. I will not mislead the blog followers!
ReplyDeleteDo you anything about current status? I heard Visa officer is asking too many unrelated questions and even they ask for end client tax return papers along with employer's tax return. Is this true? one my friend's friend staying in mexico for last 2 weeks, she didn't get any update. She cant even return back to USA. She is paying for hotel rent and suffering. I dont know people who go there now will get this smooth service.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your friend. But as we know, these things are completely random and unpredictable. There are number of reasons like insufficient documents, out of status at a earlier time due to layoff etc. that could cause this.
ReplyDeleteLong story short...you can do all the necessary steps carefully and hope for the best. I hear far more people easily getting getting the visa than not.
Hi
ReplyDeleteThanks for the details steps out. I went to Mexico Consulate office in SFO to check what all documents they need to grant a tourist visa. The lady said, even though I have the expired US visa, I can travel using approved I797. It is completely optional whether to take a Mexican Visa or not. Leaving US without a valid Mexican visa will cause any trouble to re-enter US in case if they reject/deny the Visa approval? What are the implication to visit Mexico without taking a valid Mexican Visa? in the worst can if they deny to approve US visa. How about taking help of any agency services like this one? http://www.sandiegoleisure.com/TIJUANACONSULATETRIP.html
The mexican consulate website says you don't need a visa if your US visa is valid. So, despite the lady's suggestion that your I797 is good enough to travel into Mexico, I will recommend you get a Mexican visa. Its no point taking chances in such cases especially if you get stuck or something.
ReplyDeleteAbout using agency services, they seem to be professional and good at what they do so no harm. As long as you are prepared to pay some extra bucks for their services, you're good to go.
Excellent Blog! Could you please provide some additional details on this?
